What we collect
Account data: email address, name, language and account type.
Boat data you add: boat details, photos, documents, maintenance, logbook and equipment. Boat photos and documents are stored privately; only photos you publish are shown to others.
Payment and invoice data: billing name, address, VAT number and payment status. Card details are handled by Mollie, never by us.
Messages to BOP AI, by text or voice, so it can answer you.
Emails you leave for a checklist or the demo, with the consent text you agreed to.
An anonymous visit counter (a random visitor id, page, device type and country). No IP address is stored.
Why we use it
To provide your account and the services you ask for (contract).
To take payments and issue invoices (contract and legal obligation).
To send tips and trial emails you agreed to, and short onboarding and account emails (consent or legitimate interest; you can unsubscribe with one click).
To measure visits and adverts with Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta, where consent is required, only after you accept the relevant category. Elsewhere we honour any refusal. Signup measurement records confirmed account creation, not a submitted form. UTMs identify the campaign; Google/Meta advertising identifiers are captured only with advertising acceptance.
Who receives it
Lovable Cloud and Cloudflare (hosting and database), Mollie (payments), Brevo and Lovable email (sending email), AI providers that process BOP AI questions and voice (including OpenAI and ElevenLabs), and, only with your consent, Google and Meta. Some providers are outside the EEA; transfers use standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
How long we keep it
Account and boat data: while your account exists. Invoices: as long as tax law requires. Leads: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Consent records: as long as needed to show what you agreed to.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time, by emailing alex@boatownersplatform.com. You can change cookie choices under Cookie settings in the footer. You may also complain to your data protection authority, for example the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or the UK ICO.
Cookies and similar storage
Necessary: sign-in session, language, your cookie choice and the anonymous visit id. Optional, only after consent: Google Analytics (analytics), Google Ads and Meta Pixel (advertising measurement).
