Yacht maintenance log
A maintenance log is the history of your boat. It helps you plan services on time, helps any mechanic understand the boat quickly, and gives a buyer confidence when you sell.

No card needed. Papers, maintenance reminders and BOP AI in one place.
What to write down
- Date and engine hours of every service.
- What was done, which parts and fluids were used.
- Which company did the work, with the invoice.
- Problems you noticed, even small ones, and when they were fixed.
Paper or app
- A paper log on board works, but can get wet or lost.
- A boat maintenance app keeps invoices, photos and dates together and can remind you when a service is due.
- Whatever you choose, keep it up to date after every trip to the yard.
Use the log
- Check it before the season to see what is due.
- Share it with the yard before work starts.
- Show it to buyers when you sell your boat.
Questions owners ask
- Is a maintenance log required?
- For most private boats it is not a legal requirement, but insurers, yards and buyers often ask for service history.
- Can I keep my log online?
- Yes. On Boat Owners Platform you add your boat once and keep maintenance, engine hours, papers and invoices in one place, with reminders. The first 3 months are free.
